Fossils and Dinosaurs!

Get up close with some of real fossils to learn about the type of marine fossils discovered in the Stroud District.
Experience discovering fossils with our mini fossil dig and use some cool science skills to help a dino egg ‘hatch’. Think about footprint fossils and try creating some dinosaur tracks. Create a stegosaur headdress to wear and a make dinosaur or ammonite puppet to take home.

This session is led by the Learning Officer from the Museum in the Park. There will be two sessions starting at 10:30 and 11:30 and you can stay for as long as you like.

Click here to book your free tickets on the Gloucestershire Libraries website.

This event is part of The Library Challenge, which you can find out all about below. You don't need to be taking part in the Challenge to attend this event, although why not sign up for extra fun?!

Stonehouse Library's theme is Dinosaur Detectives and is part of Stroud's 'Perilous Past' zone. Over summer you'll be able to travel through time, unlock epic stories and collect rewards with this Gloucestershire Libraries activity created especially for families.

The challenge is designed for children aged 3+ and encourages families to explore books, stories, creativity and adventure across Gloucestershire's libraries.

The free activities take place at Stonehouse Library and throughout the whole of Gloucestershire. Check out the incredible Tales Through Time map below

During the challenge, children can complete fun activities, collect stamps, earn rewards and work their way towards a special Tales Through Time medal and entry into a prize draw featuring book bundles and vouchers.
