Wassailing is an ancient West country tradition to welcome in a new apple growing year and encourage a good cider harvest. The songs from this tradition are rousing and similar in sound to folk carols.
We will sing new arrangements by Sorrel as well as some traditional favourites.

This workshop is open to everyone, all songs will be taught by ear and words sheets will be available. If you have access needs or just singing anxiety please get in touch. There will be tea and coffee on donation and half time biscuits, including dairy and gluten free.

There will be also be an opportunity to perform the songs at Wild Acre's Wassail on Sunday 18th February for those who would like to! Wild acres is a lovely community smallholding half way between Bristol and Stroud with a stream, an ancient untouched woodland, and an orchard in its third growing year.

The site is based in Breadstone, Berkeley GL13 9HF, accessible about 20 minutes to both workshops. Car shares are encouraged and can be planned during the workshops. At the wassail there will be hot soup on sale and all are welcome. Early Bird tickets until 20th Jan £25, £30 thereafter.
