Halloween is a firm favourite in our household; we love all the events and spectacles that go with it, not to mention the crafts, activities, autumnal vibes, and, of course, pumpkin pie!
October Half Term is also a Spooktacular time to get out and about with the family, and with so many Halloween events, parties, costume swaps, and trails happening all over Gloucestershire, you'd be Ghoulish to miss it:

Gloucestershire Libraries Costume Swap
We can not kick off this Spooky Season without mentioning the brilliant scheme set up by Gloucestershire Libraries. Across the whole of Gloucestershire, you can head to your nearest library to see what they have on offer, plus, feel free to take any old costumes to swap them out for the next family looking for ideas (for the children and adults) - If you've got it, haunt it!
Dates:
Between 3rd September and 15th October 2025, feel free to drop off any donations.
From 15th October to 3rd November 2025, you are welcome to come and swap a costume for a new one.

Halloweek at Sudeley Castle
'Autumnal enchantment' is the phrase Sudeley Castle uses to capture the feeling of this brillaint yearly event, and we couldn't agree more.
Bring your little witches, wizards, ghosts, and ghouls to step back in time and experience Sudeley Castle on this Hallo Eve. Find Pumpkin trails, immersive experiences, meet and greet the resident ghosts, and spooooky tales. Oh, and of course, fancy dress costumes are warmly encouraged.

Mystical Marsh Lantern Experience
A wonderful event for the whole family, particularly if you are not a fan of celebrating Halloween. Slimbridge Wetland Centre brings you a captivating evening of illuminated wildlife and wetlands. Wrap up warm and bring the family to experience this spellbinding event, which also includes Twilight SEN sessions. Take your time to soak up the autumnal glow and see the wetlands in a new light.

Pumpkin Patch on the Farm
We're going on a pumpkin hunt … we're going to catch a big one! Grab those wellies, gather the family and let's head over to the Cattle Country's Pumpkin Patch! With a wheelbarrow in tow, you'll be able to find some whoppers in the fields, plus lots of chances to take a few festival snaps at the spooky photo spots.
The pumpkin patch is included in your admission ticket; therefore, the fun does not stop at the patch: autumn crafts, family-friendly games, spooky surprises and of course, the gorgeous farm animals can all be enjoyed for your Halloween day out.

Cleeve Common - Halloween Special
Let's pumpkin spice things up this Halloween and blow off the cobwebs whilst up on Cleeve Common. Book a map and follow the trail to find your pumpkin! You will need to book for as many pumpkins as you wish to find. Then, once you have found your pumpkin on the common, you can bring it back to the golf club to unleash your creativity.

Pumpkin Patch at The Old Kennels
This is a great day out for the whole family, with some cheeky little treats along the way, too. The Old Kennels pumpkin patch is open for the picking, let the children roam and choose their perfect pumpkins (go big or gourd home, we say), then head on over to either Roots + Seeds, Naughty Gelato or Cattivo ( we can personally recommend the pizzas) for a sneaky half-term treat. Dogs welcome, and kept on leads.

Halloween at Berkeley Castle
Have you said bone-jour to the wise old woman from Berkeley Castle? Do you dare venture down into the cellars to see her? From beautiful Owls in the Great Hall to Spooky Storytime, this event is designed for the whole family and suitable for all ages.
Date: 26th October - 29th October 2025

Hallow-Scream at Primrose Vale
Primrose Vale are witching you all a happy Halloween this year, so come and join them for their annual Farm Trails. There are two trails to choose from (preschool & school-aged children), allowing you to tailor your experience to your family. Discover challenges, tasks, puzzles and spooky goings on throughout the Primrose Vale Farm. Then enjoy your treats and a trip to the café at the end.
Don't forget you can also pick your pumpkins, too!
Tickets must be bought for both trails and PYO pumpkins

Glow in the Park
It's the most wonderful time of the fear - Test your nerve at 270 Glow in the Park with high/low ropes and tower jumps, at night, all by spoooky illuminated lighting. For those who can hold their nerve!

Cotswold Farm Park
Oh my gourd - it's all happening here at the Cotswold Farm Park. Come along for a full family fun day of Pumpkin Picking, Spooky Pumpkin Trails, Pumpkin Carving, Spooky Face Painting, Trinkets, Treats and Yummy Eats. Book your experiences this Halloween.
