Apprentice Dragon Keeper Trail

This October half term, families are invited to join a magical countywide adventure as the Gloucestershire Family Festival returns from 24 October to 1 November.

Apprentice Dragon Keeper Trail

At the heart of the festival is the exciting Apprentice Dragon Keeper Trail, a free family adventure inviting children to become Dragon Keeper apprentices and help solve the mystery of a missing dragon.

The trail takes families on a story-led journey through seven stops, beginning and ending at their local library. Along the way, children use their logbook map to explore familiar community spaces, follow clues, meet magical characters and collect hidden letters.

How to Take Part

To begin your apprenticeship, collect a Dragon Keeper Logbook from one of the following participating libraries: Dursley, Oakley, Hesters Way, Matson and Cinderford.

The logbook will guide families through the adventure, helping them record clues, unlock parts of the story and complete their training as Apprentice Dragon Keepers.

Families can take part at their own pace throughout the half-term break, making it easy to fit the adventure around family life.

You can pre-register now by clicking here or simply head to a participating library during opening hours between Saturday 24 October and Saturday 31 October.
