Purton ships graveyard walk

Starting from the car park in Purton (free to park), cross over the canal bridge, turn left and walk a short distance along the canal path to reach the site of the ships graveyard, alongside the River Severn.

The canal towpath is paved and pushchair friendly. The area where the ships are buried is grass and will be muddy in places, especially over winter. Kids (and adults!) of all ages will enjoy exploring the sunken ships in the ground.

There are no public toilets or refreshments nearby but plenty of benches to stop at if you take food & drink with you.

If you would like to get outside with your baby or toddler along with other like minded parents, join us for a walk with Blaze Trails Cotswolds & Gloucestershire, our local parent & baby walking group.
